VOLUNTEERS ARE THE BACKBONE OF KTA

Pennsylvania has thousands of miles of hiking trails. Building and maintaining these trails depends mostly on volunteers.

Last month, KTA fielded its 17th Annual Trail Crew season dedicated to improving Pennsylvania’s hiking trails.

On behalf of KTA and the hikers and outdoor enthusiasts who use Pennsylvania’s many trails, we wish to thank all those who volunteered for the 2014 KTA Trail Crew. We appreciate your commitment and help in continuing this tradition of giving back to the trails we love and the hiking community we support.

Without volunteers like you, along with the cooperative efforts of KTA, hiking clubs, and other outdoor organizations, many trails in Pennsylvania would become impassable and eventually have to be abandoned. Thanks to the efforts of KTA’s Summer Trail Crew and Trail Care Weekend volunteers, Pennsylvania’s hiking community can be justly proud of our state’s extensive trail system.

In the July, 2014 edition of The Keystone Hiker, you’ll find stories about many of our recent Trail Crew events!
