New Member Drive: Winner Announced!

With more than 3,000 miles of designated hiking trails on public lands and private lands, Pennsylvania's hiking community has established one of the finest networks of trails in the country.

Public perception is that these trails will be around forever, but there is no guarantee that the trails will exist tomorrow. Many trails across Pennsylvania are in a precarious state, particularly those crossing private property. Only the Appalachian Trail - through an act of Congress - can be considered a permanent fixture of the Pennsylvania trail system.

The Keystone Trails Association's mission is to preserve, protect and promote hiking trails in Pennsylvania. To achieve our mission, we work with legislators to enact laws that benefit the hiking community; we work with landowners to keep hiking trails open to the public; and we work with volunteers to maintain existing trail systems and to build new hiking trails.

Membership with the Keystone Trails Association helps us to support important trail preservation efforts across the state.

Individuals and families that joined KTA during our 2013 New Member Drive (November 1 to December 31) were entered to win a complimentary KTA Prowl the Sproul Hiking Weekend Package for two adults, from July 18-20, 2014 (valued at $200). Congratulations to Matt Thayer, who was randomly selected from the list of names below to win! Along with 100 other new and veteran KTA members, Brenda will be able to explore the Sproul State Forest, which contains some of the most rugged and remote forestland in Pennsylvania.

A huge thank-you to all of the individuals and families that joined KTA during the 2013 New Member Drive.  Thank you for your generous support of our efforts to preserve Pennsylvania's footpaths.
