Former DCNR Deputy Secretary is new PennFuture CEO

Cindy Adams Dunn, who most recently was the Deputy Secretary for Conservation and Technical Services at the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), has been appointed as the new President and CEO of the environmental advocacy group PennFuture.

According to PennFuture, Dunn was hired after a four-month national search. "We're delighted to have Cindy with us as she is eminently qualified to lead the organization's work tackling air, land and water issues throughout the Commonwealth," said PennFuture Board of Directors Chairman David Lane in a press release. "Her skills as a manager combined with passion for the environment will prove invaluable as we continue to address climate change and promote a clean-energy economy."

In addition to working at DCNR - where she was also Director of the agency's Bureau of Recreation and Conservation - Dunn is a past Executive Director of Audubon Pennsylvania, and she held a key management post at the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay for ten years.

Dunn is a Pennsylvania native, an avid outdoorswoman and graduate of Shippensburg College. She said, "I look forward to working actively with my new colleagues on the issue of climate change. We share a great sense of urgency to protect Pennsylvania's landscape and water resources. PennFuture is well positioned to address the issues of the day, and our actions will have lasting impacts. There's a reason it's called PennFuture."
