PA Bureau of Forestry's Public Survey

In September, Pennsylvania's Bureau of Forestry began the planning process to revise the State Resource Management Plan, which is a broad, state-wide plan used to guide the management of state forest resources. The Plan is updated every five years as part of the Bureau's regular forest management activities. For the current revision, the Bureau has developed a survey to gather public input on the status of state forest lands. It is important that KTA members get involved in the forest management process and provide a strong showing of support for hiking trails on PA state forest lands. There is also an open-ended question where you can urge the Bureau to oppose fracking and oil development in and near valuable resources like the Old Loggers Path.

The survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete and will be avalable online until October 31, 2013. Click here to take the survey now.

Additional opportunities for public input through 2014 will include time for written comments and public meetings.
