Meet Joe Marano, 47, Super Hike Participant from Oreland, PA:
Joe’s hiking days reach back to his high school backpacking club, and he has continued hiking with the same friends since then! They try to get out once or twice each year, for a long weekend outing.
Enjoying the beauty that nature provides helps Joe leave the stress of the workplace behind. One of his favorite challenge hikes is the Bald Eagle Megatransect in Lock Haven, and he enjoys doing hill work on the high trails along Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon Park.
Joe and his wife participated in the 2009 and 2012 Super Hike together, though this year he will be running by himself.
