DCNR Appoints New Acting Secretary

Ellen Feretti began her position as the new Acting Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) on June 13.
 
Feretti's work will involve the developing of policy on the pressing issues of the Marcellus Shale gas development and hydraulic fracturing.
 
She is enthusiastic to begin this position, stating, "DCNR's strength is its employees, and I know that together we can continue to be one of the best conservation agencies in the nation."
 
Her previous experience includes President of the Northeast Regional office of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, where she worked closely with DCNR and their conservation efforts.
 
Feretti received a BS in Environmental Science/Biology from Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre.
