The Appalachian Trail (A.T.) is, in every way, the people's Trail. Created by a group of dreamers and doers and maintained by each new generation, every person who volunteers, supports, loves, and hikes the A.T. is a vital part of its history and success. Without each of these individuals, the Trail would not exist.
That's why the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) wants to know: How are you a part of the Appalachian Trail?
- What makes you a part of the A.T. community?
- Are you a day, weekend, section, or thru hiker?
- Do you volunteer on the Trail?
- Do you share your passion for the A.T. with friends and family?
- Do you teach visitors and hikers about best Leave No Trace™ practices?
- Do you lead nature walks?
- Are you active in an Appalachian Trail Community™?
- Do you create art (drawings, paintings, photographs, music, films, plays, books, etc.) based on the A.T.?
The ATC will be accepting video shorts, no longer than 3 minutes, which answer the question: How are you a part of the Appalachian Trail?
