Susan Kerlin, from Lanse, PA, has been a hiker for the past four years, beginning first when a friend invited her to go on a hike for the American Cancer Society. She found hiking challenging and great exercise, but soon realized the immense stress relief qualities and grounding benefits while being the sole caretaker of her critically ill husband during his final years and now refers to hiking as her healing peace. Today, her friends even joke to her, “Did you walk all the way here today?”
