Local Clubs, KTA Needs Your Help

by Curt Ashenfelter, Executive Director

KTA needs your help on a whole host of issues, including trail maintenance, membership recruitment, and letters to your State Senators and State Representatives about gas drilling on the Old Loggers Path.
We also need your help when it comes to membership contributions. Last year, we asked and you responded in a positive way to the financial challenges facing KTA, and we almost balanced our budget. This year, we are hopeful that your club can help again, and that - with your help - we will be in the black at the end of the fiscal year. It will be a challenge, but we believe we can do it, by working together with our member clubs.

Many clubs have been able to rise above the modest KTA dues structure and make special contributions, and for that we are thankful. This year, if your club can provide KTA with an equally generous (or perhaps even more robust) contribution, it would go a long way in helping KTA achieve a balanced budget.

A few clubs have passed their renewal date and are in arrears. Please ask your treasurer to check your last contribution, and if it was more then 12 months ago renew soon. Or you can ask us when your renewal date is. Make sure to add "ktaadmin@verizon.net" to your "safe senders" list in your email program, so that you do not miss your renewal reminders or other important information.

If your club would like a KTA board member to speak at your next club meeting about the work KTA does throughout Pennsylvania, please let us know. Once your members hear of all the great work KTA is doing across the state, they may be more motivated to support KTA financially with increased dues or contributions, to join KTA as individuals, and participate in KTA's great hiking events!

Thank you for your support!
