Hiking, Trails & Technology Workshop

by Jim Foster, KTA Board Member

Hello!   I am a new Board Member of KTA and outgoing President of Cumberland Valley Appalachian Trail Club, a KTA member organization. I strongly encourage local clubs to share the link to KTA’s digital newsletter, The Keystone Hiker, and club newsletter, The Club Connection, on your own website as well as Facebook and other social networking pages. I believe you will find KTA's newsletter to be an added value for your hiking club as you share stories of interest to hikers not just on the local scene, but statewide as well.

KTA is also considering integrating workshops about technology into our hiking weekends, to help decrease barriers to creating and using such resources as digital newsletters, websites, Facebook pages, and Meetup groups. If you believe this would be an added benefit to your hiking club, please let me know. I'd also like to hear how your hiking club or maintaining organization is using technology to promote your activities and mission.

If there is sufficient interest, we will put together a "Hiking, Trails & Technology" program for our spring or fall hiking weekend. Please send emails of interest to ktahike@verizon.net I look forward to meeting with you and discussing technology options at the next KTA gathering.
