Healey Receives Keystone Legacy Award

Joe Healey, head of the Keystone Trail Care Crew, was recently awarded the Keystone Legacy Award by the Pennsylvania Parks & Forests Foundations at their annual award banquet on May 5, 2009. The Keystone Legacy Award is PPFF's top honor which recognizes an outstanding contribution to the protection and enhancement of Pennsylvania's park and forest system.

The KTA Trail Care Program works to improve existing trails or build new trails, putting the KTA motto of "Preserving Pennsylvania's Footpaths" into action. Joe has led the Crew since 2002, shunning the spotlight and taking care to acknowledge the crew volunteers as the real heroes of the program. Organizing the many annual projects takes as much time as a full-time job, yet Joe works tirelessly as a volunteer. The Pennsylvania park and forest system is the beneficiary of Joe's dedication. Congratulations to Joe for this much deserved recognition from PPFF.
