VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES AT BLACK MOSHANNON STATE PARK

 from DCNR...

The 9th Annual Cranberry Festival will be held on October 8 at Black Moshannon State Park, Centre County, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Volunteers are needed to assist with activities, including leaf prints, colonial candle dipping, hay rides (getting on and off, signing waivers, etc.), pumpkin races (including kayaking), the cranberry drop game, and making pinecone bird feeders.

In addition, volunteers are needed on October 15 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM to dress up and scare park visitors along the Haunted Lake Loop Trail. All ages are welcome, but children should have adults with them. We do have some costumes available to borrow.

Volunteers are also needed to lead groups of 30 to 50 people on walks along the trail (we’re hoping for 10 or more hike leaders), as well as help at registration and tend the campfire for marshmallows.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please call the Black Moshannon State Park office at 814-342-5960 or e-mail blackmoshannonee@pa.gov. Thank you!
