Candidates for Election

October 15, 2016

The Nominating Committee for Keystone Trails Association presents the following candidates subject to election by KTA Council at the Annual Meeting, October 15, 2016, at Whitehall Camp and Conference Center.

A. Board of Directors:

Rob Altenburg, New Cumberland, PA (Incumbent): 3 year term

Katie Barker, Carlisle, PA (Incumbent): 3 year term

James Foster, Enola, PA (Incumbent): 3 year term

Ernest Werstler, Stevens, PA (Incumbent): 3 year term

Nominated for election: Dave Gantz, State College PA

Dave is a long distance hiker who has hiked most of the backpacking trails in PA. He has been serving as a Keystone Trails Association Representative-At-Large since October, 2015. He also spends a significant amount of time encouraging others to explore the outdoors. He does this through employment at Appalachian Outdoors, as a backpacking leadership instructor at PSU, and by volunteering to lead hikes with several different organizations. Dave maintains a section of the AFT and has authored two guide books (Old Loggers Path and the Chuck Keiper Trail).

C. Representatives–at-Large (elected in odd-numbered years for 2-year term):

Nominated:

Ben Cramer is nominated to replace Dave Gantz as a Representative-At-Large. Ben Cramer lives in State College, Pennsylvania, and has hiked over 4,000 miles on Pennsylvania's trails, completing many of the state's long-distance backpacking trails. He is a lifetime member of Keystone Trails Association, has published three hiking guides (Guide to the Allegheny Front Trail, the Quehanna Trail Guide, and edited Pennsylvania's Hiking Trails, now in its 13th edition.) He is working on a fourth, for The Susquehannock Trail System.
