KTA RECEIVES TRAIL MAINTENANCE TOOLS FROM PHILADELPHIA TRAIL CLUB

by Jim Foster, KTA Board of Directors, Secretary

The Philadelphia Trail Club (PTC) has given KTA tools to help maintain the Appalachian Trail (AT). KTA recently assumed responsibility for maintaining the AT section that PTC had overseen. This section, about 10 miles, stretches from Lehigh Furnace Gap to Little Gap and straddles Lehigh, Carbon, and Northampton Counties.

Among the tools PTC gave us included hedge trimmers, pick-mattocks, a rock bar, a machete, some small signs, a come-along, a handsaw, a drawknife, and maps of the AT section. We are pleased to have PTC as a club member of KTA and thank them for their generosity.
