Dedication of Standing Stone Trail As Trail Of The Year
The Standing Stone Trail is PA DCNR's Trail Of The Year for 2016.
Join us on Tuesday, May 31 at 9 am for the dedication ceremony, featuring DCNR Secretary Cindy Dunn.
Location: Greenwood Furnace State Park
15795 Greenwood Rd, Huntingdon, PA
The celebration will be at pavilion # 4, a short way from the visitors center. Folks are to park in the visitors center parking lot.
Afterwards, we'll do a hike on the SST. The hike will be a 5 mile on the SST and some side trails. The hike is moderate with a fairly challenging ascent and descent, including the awesome Stone Valley Vista.
Note: We changed the location from the Thousand Steps, due to concerns about heavy traffic and lack of parking there.
