DONUT HOLE TRAIL RELO NEEDS YOUR ELBOW GREASE

by Ed Lawrence, KTA Trail Care Chair

KTA’s Trail Care schedule has been expanded to 16 (remember the pithy slogan “15 in 15”?) events this year, with a Code Orange work day added on Saturday, September 5, to help move the needle on the Donut Hole relocation. This relocation will vastly improve the hiking experience south of Hyner Run State Park as it incorporates terrain recently acquired by the Nature Conservancy and leaves some road walking and gas drilling infrastructure out of the picture. This is what the KTA Trail Care Program is all about, and your help is essential. The crew will be piloted by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ indefatigable forester Ted Ligenza. Camping will be available Friday night (only) on the Western Clinton Sportsmens Association grounds conveniently located across the bridge from Hyner View. Please help make this work day a success!
