KTA WELCOMES NEW E.D.

On June 8, 2015, Joe Neville was appointed as the Keystone Trails Association’s new Executive Director. He takes over leadership from former Executive Director Curt Ashenfelter, who retired on February 27.
 
Joe began a career in conservation in the 1980’s that included a stint teaching environmental education, working with various non-profit organizations including the Girl Scouts and the PA Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs, and most recently with 15 years of employment with the Commonwealth.
 
Joe is an avid outdoorsman, a life member of the Pennsylvania Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and several other outdoor organizations. Joe holds a B.S. in Biology from Penn State University, a B.S. in Recreation from Penn State University and a M.S. in Recreation Administration from Eastern Kentucky University. Joe, his wife Susan, and their daughters reside in Mechanicsburg, PA.
 
Joe says, “I am honored to become the Keystone Trails Association’s Executive Director. The mission of KTA resonates deeply within me and I am committed to continuing the effort to preserve and enhance Pennsylvania’s remarkable trail system. Hiking provides people of all ages and abilities an opportunity to encounter our natural world up close and personal, while enjoying an incredible recreational experience. By working with our members, volunteers, supporters and partners we will continue to seek innovative ways to promote and protect trails while providing extraordinary hiking in Pennsylvania.”
