Approximately 130 KTA members and area hikers joined together for the weekend of April 17-19, 2015, at Camp Swatara, Berks County, to explore the Blue Mountain (inside and out, including a private tour of closed-down Onyx Cave!) with hike leaders from the Blue Mountain Eagle Climbing Club.
The hiking weekend one of KTA’s best yet, with evening campfire entertainment by the Blue Blazes folk group; a spirited hoedown; an informative presentation by Karen Lutz, Appalachian Trail Conservancy–Mid Atlantic Region, about regional threats to hiking trails; and 80-degree, sunny weather.
