Keystone Trails Association has been an active member of the Save the Loyalsock Coalition for the past 18 months. Thank you to all KTA members and volunteers who have supported our efforts to keep the Old Loggers Path (and trails in our other state parks and state forests) safe from gas drilling activities! We received this letter from the Coalition on January 12, 2015:
Victory declared! Though the “war” is not yet over, we have declared victory over our battle. The Save the Loyalsock Coalition has achieved what seemed like an improbable goal at the beginning: to keep drilling out of the Clarence Moore lands until a new administration is in place. The Coalition has succeeded in this campaign, as no drilling has commenced and no surface use agreement is in place. Though we are in no way “out of the woods,” so to speak, this does represent an achievement that we can celebrate.
