PRPS ANNUAL CONFERENCE

The Pennsylvania Recreation & Park Society (PRPS) will host its 68th Annual State Conference and celebrate its 80th Anniversary. The conference will be held in Lancaster at the Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square on March 22-25, 2015. The conference theme is “breaking traditions.”

Highlights this year include Christopher Ridenhour, our Sunday opening keynote speaker. Christopher is the director of employee engagement and customer service training at a Philadelphia-based management company for a continuing care retirement community. Christopher develops and delivers high-impact staff education focused on heroic communications and listening, powerful caring and compassion.

Lauren Imgrund, director of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Bureau of Recreation & Conservation, will also be one of this year’s highlighted speakers. Lauren will present on Monday. The closing keynote speaker will be Matt Jones, a world-class professional speaker and author who went from being a cancer conqueror, to relearning how to walk, to running 6 marathons on 6 continents.

In addition, participants can choose from over 67 educational sessions, including Professional Development; Park Resources; Trails and Facilities; Urban Recreation; Aquatics; Programming; Social Media and Marketing; Inclusion and Accessibility; and DCNR Updates. Don’t forget the opportunities to network with 400+ park-and-recreation professionals!
