The KTA 100-Mile Trail Challenge recognizes hikers who complete 100 or more miles of eligible Pennsylvania hiking trails in a designated period of time. Participants are challenged to complete not just 100 or more miles of trails but also to secure sponsorships for each mile of their journey. Every dollar raised supports hiking trails throughout Pennsylvania.
We had quite a successful third year for our 100-Mile Trail Challenge! Between September 1, 2013, and August 31, 2014, 19 participants hiked a combined total of 3,406 miles of Pennsylvania’s trails and raised a total of $2,724 in sponsorships to support the KTA’s mission of protecting our hiking trails—an average of 179 miles hiked and $143 raised per participant!
