FIRST DOG COMPLETES KTA 100-MILE TRAIL CHALLENGE

by Sawyer the Trail Puppy

Hi, my name is Sawyer, and I’m a rescue puppy. Hiking is my favorite thing to do. I was adopted at the age of 6 months, and as an unhealthy puppy, I didn’t trust many people. To bond with me, my owner took me for a walk every day. I loved walking so much that I would go no matter what the weather. My favorite thing to do is hit up a PA trail and hike in the woods. I can run as much as I want—it keeps me fit and has helped me learn how to trust and bond. I have to admit I was a little scared on my first overnight backpacking trip, but I cuddled for warmth in the tent and slept with one eye open. I’m almost 8 now, but I still walk every day, and I’m always excited to get on a trail to take in nature and the fresh air.

KTA congratulates Sawyer for completing the Keystone Trails Association 2013-2014 100-Mile Trail Challenge!  Will you join Sawyer on the trail next year? Click here to learn how you can join the 100-Mile Challenge!
