HIKING THROUGH HISTORY: ATC BIENNIAL

by Jim Foster, Secretary, KTA Board of Directors

It’s not too early to think about the 2015 Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) Biennial. The Biennial Conference is sort of the annual meeting of the Appalachian Trail, except that it’s held every other year. The 2015 Biennial – with the theme of “Hiking through History” - will be held in Winchester, VA, only about 50 miles from Pennsylvania. The 2015 Biennial will be co-hosted by the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club and the Mountain Club of Maryland, both members of KTA. It will be held July 17-24, 2015, on the campus of Shenandoah University. Registration will open early in 2015. They are also seeking volunteers to help with the conference planning, to lead hikes and excursions, to help with registration, and for many other needs. If you’re interested in volunteering, send an e-mail to Volunteers2015@patc.net.
